Burne Hogarth demo_ "Draw the head"

Burne Hogarth alongside Andrew Loomis is one of the legend of drawing education but I don't think many people knew about this very rare demo by the Master himself I found some time ago

Proportions_Part 1. The body. Richer. Anatomie Artistique

Construction is one of the most important aspect when learning how to draw the figure.

Not only it will help you to create more solid drawings when drawing from life at a life drawing classes or when sketching in the street but it will also allow you to draw from imagination without references.

Here is already a little gem that was recommended to me by Scott Eaton when I attended an anatomy training many years ago.

The following pages will show you how the entire body relates to the height of a head.

Those are obviously generic proportions and will not apply in all circumstances but this will be a very good starting point to use as reference when drawing from life.

Big Hero 6 / John Singer Sargent

I just saw Big Hero 6 this week end and it was fun to see John Singer Sargent used as an inspiration for one of Fred's portrait paintings.

The painting was done by Ryan Lang and the underdrawing by Jin Kim

Je suis Charlie (I am Charlie)

Some brainless animals killed some of the most respected French cartoonists last week in Paris including my childhood hero #Cabu
